California To Ban Natural Gas Heaters By 2030

California has made yet another step on its way to complete reliance on renewable energy by banning the use of gas-powered water heaters and furnaces from 2030. The proposal to ban these products was approved unilaterally by the California Air Resources Board yesterday, Bloomberg reports. “We’re really hopeful that this is the beginning of a domino effect and other states will follow California’s lead,” said Leah Louis-Prescott, an associate at RMI, a clean energy non-profit.
