Turkey hopes the “artificial crisis” between Qatar and other Arab states gets resolved soon, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said on Friday. On June 5, five Arab countries — Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Yemen — abruptly cut diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing Doha of supporting terrorism. Qatar denies plot to destabilise Bahrain

Qatar on Saturday denied accusations of attempting to undermine security in neighboring Bahrain. On Friday, Bahrain’s official BNA news agency broadcast a phone call allegedly between Hamad bin Khalifa al-Attiyah, an adviser to Qatar’s Emir and Hassan Ali Joma, a leader of Bahrain’s opposition Shia Al-Wefaq movement. The agency accused Doha of meddling with Bahrain’s internal affairs with the aim of “overthrowing” the regime. Leading Muslim scholars from Turkey published a statement on Thursday in support of the chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Shaikh Yousef Al-Qaradawi, Anadolu has reported. Turks flock to mosque to view clothes which belonged to Prophet Muhammad

Large number of Turks have flocked to a mosque in Istanbul to see a set of clothes believed to have belonged to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, Rassd.com reported on Friday. The items on display were among those that the Prophet sent as a present to one of the early Muslims in Yemen. The clothes were taken to Istanbul during the 17th century. In the 18th century, the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Majeed built a mosque where they were kept. Every year during the holy month of Ramadhan the clothes are put on display for the public to see. Hamas hails Sudan’s efforts to resolve rift among Arab states

The Head of the Hamas Political Bureau has called Sudan’s President Omar Al-Bashir to thank him for his efforts to find a solution to the rift among the Arab states and keep them secure and united, Felesteen newspaper reported on Friday. ICC calls for arrest of Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi

The International Criminal Court has called for the arrest of  just a week after he was released by the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Brigade in Libya, agencies have reported. Muammar Gaddafi’s son is on the wanted list along with Al-Tihami Mohamed Khalid, the former chief of internal security during the rule of the late Libyan dictator. According to Libya’s Al-Wasat Gate, when ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda was informed of Gaddafi’s release by the militia she called for the reports to be verified. French police officer arrested for passing documents to Morocco

The French authorities formally charged a police officer on Friday of passing secret documents to Moroccan intelligence agents, Anadolu has reported. The unidentified officer was arrested at the end of last month. According to France 24 news website, the transfer of the documents was carried out through a French-Moroccan intermediary who works with a private firm specialising in airport security. The police officer was stationed at Paris Orly Airport to the south of the French capital. The secret documents passed to the Moroccans included the names of people listed as being “a danger to national security”.
