The United States’ Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that a US-led Coalition airstrikes has killed a senior commander in the Daesh militant group at the Tabqa Dam in Syria, not far from Daesh’s Syrian capital of Raqqa. In a press release today, CENTCOM said “Abu Jandal al-Kuwaiti, an ISIL gang leader in Raqqa was struck and killed by a coalition airstrike near Tabqa Dam,” using another acronym for Daesh. Libyan security authorities said on Wednesday that the Daesh militant group is rearranging its fighters that had fled from the northern city of Sirte, in training camps in the west of the country. The joint army and police forces of Bani Walid, which are loyal to the Tripoli’s UN-backed government, said on their Facebook page that Daesh is rearranging its forces in the West after incurring defeat in the northern city of Sirte. The Bani Walid joint forces said in the Facebook page that the militant group is rearranging its forces that had fled from Sirte, and holding training camps in the area of Al-Haram and some of the surrounding valleys between the cities of Bani Walid and Awlad Bousayf.

Two men were arrested in Madrid on Wednesday on suspicion of spreading Islamist militant propaganda, the Interior Ministry said. Police released video footage in connection with the arrests that showed officers uncovering gun magazines and bullets from under rocks in a disused, graffiti-sprayed building. El Pais newspaper quoted the Interior Ministry as saying the search, in the outskirts of Madrid, uncovered four Kalashnikov AK-47 magazines and over 30 bullets. Israel’s Jerusalem municipality demolished Palestinian-owned structures in the occupied East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Silwan today, under the pretext that they lacked Israeli-issued building permits, according to local organisation the Wadi Hilweh Information Centre. The centre said that municipality crew, accompanied by Israeli police forces, destroyed three containers and a steel structure belonging to the Siyam family in the Ein Al-Luza neighbourhood of Silwan. The structures were being used for agricultural purposes. Local sources said that parts of a store – measuring some 10 square metres – belonging to the Abu Hadwan family was also demolished in the area.
