Saudi Arabia pays $60m to support PA’s budget

The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has transferred $60 million to the Palestinian finance ministry’s account, the Saudi ambassador to Egypt and the kingdom’s permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Osama Bin Ahmed Naqli, announced yesterday.

Naqli explained that the remitted amount represented Saudi Arabia’s monthly contributions to support the Palestinian Authority (PA)’s budget for November and December 2018, and January 2019.

The disbursement, he added, comes within the framework of the kingdom’s “permanent support for the Palestinian cause at all political, economic and humanitarian levels.”

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is currently on a two-day official visit to the Saudi capital of Riyadh to hold talks on the political developments in Palestine with the Saudi King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz and Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman.
