JEDDAH: Under the patronage of King Salman, the Kingdom will host the World Scout and Environmental Protection Conference in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The conference has been organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association (SASA).
A group of world scouts and specialists in environmental and volunteer works will participate in the conference.
This patronage comes in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which has set the environmental and sustainable development as one of its main objectives.
The Saudi association joined the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1963 and hosted the Arab Jamboree in Taif in 2000. There are 50 million Scouts in the world and 28 million of them are Muslim. SASA has been helping Hajj pilgrims for 47 years.
