Dubai ruler: 80% of Emiratis own their homes

Eighty per cent of Emiratis own their homes, making the UAE one of the countries with the highest rate of property ownership in the world, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, revealed yesterday. Chairing a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed announced the approval of a seven billion dirham ($1.9 billion) housing programme. This includes the building of 7,200 homes for Emirati citizens over the next three years, he explained. When more than 700,000 Palestinians were driven from their homes in historical Palestine by Jewish terror gangs in 1948, followed by the establishment of the state of Israel on their land, the UN General Assembly established the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to provide humanitarian relief to all of those who had been displaced. The Agency was established in December 1949. Palestinian refugees are still displaced and scattered around refugee camps and a worldwide diaspora. They and their descendants now number around 7.2 million people, including 4.3 million registered for humanitarian assistance with UNRWA. Yemen government is winning the war, says commander

General Nasser Al-Dhaybani, commander of Yemeni National Army, said his troops are moving closer to the Houthi-controlled capital Sana’a “every day”, Sky News reported today. The YNA seek to take back Sana’a and the strategic port city of Hudaydah “as soon as the conditions are right”, Al-Daybani said. He described Saudi Arabia’s controversial air strikes in the country as “excellent” and “helpful” but said he didn’t want them to destroy Sana’a as “there are two million civilians there”.
