Following his lengthy prepared remarks and closed-door hearings this morning, Presidential-son-in-law Jared Kushner is about to make a statement (presumably to front-run the leaks which will inevitably flow from the hearing).
Kushner reiterated that he did not collude with Russia, and added that President Trump won the election because he ran a "smarter campaign."
"Since the first questions were raised in March, I have been consistent in saying that I was eager to share any information I have with the investigating bodies and I have done so today," Kushner said in a statement following his meeting Monday with the Senate Intelligence Committee.
"The records and documents I have voluntarily provided will show that all of my actions are proper and occurred in the normal course of events of a very unique campaign," he continued. "Let me be very clear, I did not collude with Russia, nor do I know of anyone else in the campaign who did so."
Kushner, the president's son-in-law, added that he had no improper contacts with Moscow and said he has not relied on Russian funds for his businesses. He also said he has been "fully transparent."
"Donald Trump had a better message and ran a smarter campaign and that is why he won," Kushner said adding that "suggesting otherwise ridicules those who voted for him."
Kushner called it an honor to work with Trump and his administration.
