Lukoil lets contract for Sicilian refinery

Isab SRL, a subsidiary of PJSC Lukoil
of Russia, has let a contract to Amec Foster Wheeler PLC to provide
engineering services as part of a major turnaround of the 16
million-tonne/year Priolo refinery in Sicily’s eastern province of
Syracuse.

Michigan’s US senators introduce Great Lakes pipeline safety bill

Michigan’s two US senators, Democrats Gary C. Peters and Debbie
Stabanow, introduced legislation aimed at increasing crude oil and
products pipeline safety in and around the Great Lakes. One provision of
S. 1226
would change the classification of such lines from onshore to a special
category that would hold pipeline operators to liability standards like
those for US offshore systems, they said.

Shell to acquire Chevron’s unit in Trinidad and Tobago

Royal Dutch Shell PLC said it has signed an agreement to acquire the
interests of Chevron Corp.’s subsidiary in Trinidad and Tobago. The
deal, worth $250 million, includes Chevron’s holdings in East Coast
Marine Area Blocks 6, 5a, and E.

Ichthys semisubmersible CPF arrives off Western Australia

The semisubmersible central processing facility (CPF) for the
Inpex-operated Ichthys gas-condensate development project arrived at its
field destination in the Browse basin about 450 km north of Broome and
220 km offshore Kimberley, Western Australia.
